About Me

A hilarious view of life with multiple autoimmune disease and chronic illness. Lupus, Dermatomyositis, Myositis, Alopecia, Raynaud's Syndrome, Sjogren's Disease, Depression & Anxiety. I have it all and have learned to not only accept what come my way but to see the humour in all that life has to offer. If you know someone struggling with chronic illness please refer them to this blog. My hope is to brighten the days of those who need it the most and give hope that there is still a beautiful life to live even if it may be a little bit broken!

Hi I’m Theresa Bertuzzi

I am new to blogging but wanted to share my story in hopes that it may help others going through similar situations.  Over the past 10 years my business partners and I have created our own daycare company, turned it into a multi-unit franchise and have now taken our company internationally.  We faced huge successes and made tons of mistakes along the way but kept it together using our humor as a crutch in facing the difficult times.  Throughout this time I have also had to battle many personal, health issues including multiple immune disorders like Alopecia, Lupus, Raynoaud’s Syndrome, Sjorgen’s Disease, and most recently Dermatomyositis.  Some people ask me how I keep smiling through it all but why wouldn’t I.  I have a great husband, kids, parents, family and friends who all have as equally disturbed senses of humour as I do and if I can’t see the bright side of a situation, they will be sure to point it out to me.  I have come to realize that there is a laugh to be had in any situation that life brings you and if you can learn to appreciate the absurdity of this beautiful life we live then enjoyment can be found in even your darkest moments.  To my friends and relatives who are sure to be dragged into some of these stories, I apologize ahead of time but you have chosen to love me so you are all fair game now!  Welcome to my messy, broken beautiful life.
