Tiny Hoppers/What Is Master Franchising?

As part of our Tiny Hoppers’ Franchise expansion we are Master Franchising across Canada and all other countries. Whenever someone asks us how we are expanding and I mention Master Franchising I am normally met with a blank stare and an immediate “what is that?” No worries, I didn’t know what it was either until we researched it like crazy and spoke to many experts. Master Franchising is a way to get help from people who are interesting in joining your brand. Master Franchisors purchase the rights to join your franchise team and they become the master franchisor for the territory that they purchased. For example, an interested individual or team may decide that they want to sell Tiny Hoppers in a specific province, state or country. In Canada we sell our territories by province, in the US we will be selling by state and in other areas of the world we sell by country.
After purchasing the territory the Master Franchisor essentially becomes the franchisor for their area. They make the sales in that area and then provide support to their franchisees during start up as well as provide them with continuous ongoing support. In return, they share 50% of all royalties with Tiny Hoppers. Tiny Hoppers’ head office, in return, provides all necessary documents, training manuals, lesson plans, marketing materials and supports and guides the master franchisors. So the Master Franchisor becomes the middle man between head office and the franchisees in their territory to make sure that they have the close support that they need and Head Office works with the master franchisors to make sure that they have everything they need to provide that support. They help us by allowing us the capability to expand quickly while ensuring the quality of our services remain high and we help them by providing them with their own franchise without having to reinvent the wheel and together we become a team.
Our first master franchisors in Canada are Aldin and Chantal Thomas who purchased the province of Alberta. Aldin and Chantal joined our team a couple of years ago when they purchased our Findlay Creek location in Ottawa. After taking over the Findlay Creek location they have turned the centre into a very successful business that is now running at maximum capacity. They then decided that they would like to further their growth in Tiny Hoppers by becoming part of our franchising team and master franchising in Canada. They decided on Alberta and have their first location opening up in Summerside in Edmonton in just a few more months. Their first franchisee is Rendi Dennis and she is the owner of the Summerside location. Together, and with the support of Head Office, they have designed a gorgeous centre and are already receiving a ton of registrations. Aldin and Chantal will continue to support Rendi throughout her opening and will assist her throughout her career at Tiny Hoppers. In addition, Aldin and Chantal have numerous new centres currently in the works that will be announced shortly as soon as lease negotiations are completed. They are doing an amazing job in Alberta and we are so proud of them.
In addition, we have master franchised the country of Saudi Arabia to the Al-Jaddah Holding Company. This is an amazing company that runs many different businesses across Saudi Arabia. They opened the first Tiny Hoppers last spring in Jeddah. The school has done amazingly well and their registrations are through the roof. This was such a fun project for us and we are so happy that the Tiny Hoppers brand and curriculum has been welcomed into Saudi Arabia with such enthusiasm. The Al-Jaddah group have arranged for Tiny Hoppers to become the very first licensed daycare in the country and will be quickly opening schools all over Saudi Arabia with many schools in the work. The demand for new schools from parents in Saudi Arabia has been amazing and their Social Media pages are inundated with requests for Tiny Hoppers to open in various cities. We are so proud of the Al-Jaddah group and so happy that they have become a part of our team. It is so fun to work with children all of the way on the other side of the world.
The best part about Master Franchising is getting to know the companies and individuals that join our teams. We don’t just pick anyone as this is kind of like a marriage as we will be business partners for many, many years to come so the people we choose to share in our brand are people that we love and that we enjoy working with. It is very exciting to work and talk to people all over the world and to learn the differences in running a business in the different areas and countries. It is also fun to be able to bring our brand and curriculum to children all across the country and on the other side of the world. We get to see pictures all of the time of children enjoying our schools and activities and to see the joy on the children’s faces is beyond words. What a privilege to be able to help educate and bring our programs to children on the other side of the world. There are days when I pinch myself because I can’t believe what an opportunity we have been blessed with!
